Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS)
The Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) Training is a comprehensive program designed to prepare licensed mental health professionals for the responsibilities of clinical supervision. This training meets the national standards for clinical supervision and provides the foundational knowledge, ethical guidelines, and best practices necessary for effective supervision across various clinical settings.
Participants will gain in-depth insight into supervision theories, models, and techniques, with a strong emphasis on multicultural competence, ethical decision-making, risk management, and supervisee development. The course also explores legal considerations, documentation requirements, and strategies for addressing challenges in supervision.
This 45-hour continuing education (CE) training is approved by the Center for Counseling Education and includes 6 hours dedicated specifically to ethics in supervision. The course is designed to be flexible and self-paced, allowing participants to engage in the material at their convenience while also receiving live support from the trainer for guidance and clarification.
Upon completion, participants will be equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to apply for the Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) credential and effectively supervise mental health professionals in training.

Becoming a Supervisor -25 hour

The Becoming a Supervisor course is designed to equip licensed mental health professionals with the knowledge, skills, and ethical foundations necessary to become competent and effective clinical supervisors. This comprehensive training is appropriate for counselors and related behavioral health professionals seeking to meet state supervision training requirements in jurisdictions requiring 25 hours or fewer of supervision-specific education for supervisor credentialing or designation.
Participants will engage in a dynamic learning experience that integrates theoretical frameworks, practical application, legal and ethical considerations, and evidence-based best practices in clinical supervision. The course emphasizes supervision models, counselor development, multicultural competence, gatekeeping responsibilities, documentation standards, risk management, and strategies for navigating challenging supervisory situations.
This 25.0 CE clock hour training includes 21 hours in Clinical Supervision, 1 hour in Social and Cultural Foundations, and 3 hours in Ethics. The program incorporates interactive discussion, case studies, experiential activities, and real-world application to support the development of ethical and effective supervisory practice.
Participants will also receive guidance related to supervision documentation, evaluation processes, professional responsibilities, compliance considerations, and best practices for supporting pre-licensed clinicians and supervisees in clinical settings.
Upon successful completion of the training, participants will have foundational knowledge and practical skills to pursue supervisor credentialing or designation in applicable states, in accordance with their individual state board requirements.
LPC Supervisor Training (Texas)
The LPC Supervisor Training – Texas is a 40-clock-hour training course designed to meet the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors (TSBEPC) requirements for individuals seeking the LPC-Supervisor (LPC-S) designation. This training provides a comprehensive overview of clinical supervision models, methods, ethical and legal responsibilities, and administrative tasks necessary for effective supervision.
This course meets all LPC Rule §681.147 requirements, ensuring that participants receive highquality supervision education that aligns with Texas regulations. Participants will engage in interactive learning, case studies, and real-world applications while developing a strong foundation in supervision theory and practice.
Key Course Components (40 Clock Hours):
- 3 Hours – Defining and Conceptualizing Supervision & Models of Supervision
- 3 Hours – Supervisory Relationship & Counselor Development
- 12 Hours – Supervision Methods & Techniques (Roles, Multicultural Supervision, Evaluation)
- 12 Hours – Roles for Supervision, Standards of Practice, Ethics, and Legal Issues
- 3 Hours – Executive & Administrative Tasks (Supervision Plan, Contracts, Record-Keeping)
This self-paced course must be completed within 90 days and is led by a fully licensed LPC-S, as required by Texas Administrative Code (TAC) §681.147.
Eligibility Requirements:
Before enrolling, ensure you meet the LPC-S application criteria set forth by 22 TAC 681.72(d):
- Hold an active LPC license in good standing for at least 60 months
- Submit an LPC-S application and fees to the TSBEPC
- Complete an approved 40-hour supervision training course within two years of applying
For out-of-state LPCs: Your license must be active and in good standing and meet or exceed Texas’ supervision requirements.

This course does not automatically grant LPC-Supervisor status but fulfills the training requirement for licensure upgrade with the Texas LPC Board. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate of completion to submit with their LPC-S application.
